The Storywood

An audio story hub, home to tales, meditations, and whispers of the wild.

Step through the hedge

The Storywood is a monthly audio subscription, a cosy home for stories, meditations, guided audio journeys, spoken poems and musings, all rooted in folklore, nature, woodland goings-on and a slower, more enchanted way of living.

If you've read my book Through the Hedge, you'll find more Mossvale here too, unpublished stories from that world, waiting each month. If you haven't, that's alright, this is simply a place to come and listen, and feel a little more alive in your own life.

There is a version of your life that feels different to this one. You have always known it was there, in the pull you feel toward old stories, toward moss-covered walls, folklore and the hush of woodland in early morning.

You are not imagining it. That feeling is real, and it has been waiting for you to come back to it.

The gap in the hedge has always been there. You simply needed someone to show you where to look.

What's inside

Step through the hedge, and into a cosy world of audio stories, waiting to be listened to.

Three rooms, each holding something a little different.

Mossvale Tales: Mossvale is the enchanted world at the heart of my book, Through the Hedge, ancient moors, a fairy village that's always bustling, a cosy inn where the fire's always lit, characters who carry more than they let on.

This room holds unpublished audio stories set there, narrated for you to sink into, extra tales beyond the book.

Quiet Enchantments: A room to come and breathe. Meditations, walking meditations and guided audio journeys, alongside beautiful poetry and odes. Somewhere to come when you want a quiet space, time to reflect, and a moment to reconnect.

Whispers of the Hedgerow Folklore retold and narrated in my own voice, along with nature stories and musings.

The old ways of noticing the world, carried forward.

New audio pieces are added monthly. Come whenever you want a story to listen to.

A NOTE FROM KAYLEIGH

I'm a writer, a collector of folklore, and someone who has come to believe that enchantment is the thread running underneath everything worth living for.

I've spent years gathering the old stories, the ones carried in hedgerows and half-remembered by grandmothers, the ones that live in the pause before rain, in a robin's curious way of watching you back. I've also written and narrated my own, in the way I'd tell them to someone I loved, slowly, with the light left in.

The Storywood is where I keep them all.

A room for Mossvale's unfinished corners.

A room to sit quietly in and breathe.

A room for the old ways of noticing the world, spoken aloud the way they were always meant to be shared, around a fire, in the dark, voice to voice.

Come and listen when the world has gone loud, or when you want to get cosy and drift away to somewhere wonderful for a while and remember how strange and lovely the world really is.

A Few Things You Might Be Wondering

What actually happens when I join?

You'll get full access to all three rooms, every story, meditation and poem already there, plus anything new added from that point on.

How do I listen?

You can access the portal through desktop, or through the app for ease, whichever suits you best. Listen whenever it fits your day.

Do I need to listen in order, or keep up with new releases?

Not at all. Come and go as you please, dip into whatever room calls to you that day.

Do the stories change with the seasons?

Yes. Woven through all three rooms are stories, meditations and poems that move with the wheel of the year, cosy autumn tales, bright spring pieces, and everything in between, so there's always something that matches the season you're in.

If I cancel, do I lose access?

You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period, then it closes. You're welcome back any time. If you are on the annual one it will allow you to renew at the end of the year.
